A Model of My Boat

Throughout my Pogo collecting I have met some marvelous people. Some, I have met in person, others are on-line friends. Recently I sold some books to a Pogo fan from North Idaho, Dale Intolubbe. Shortly before I left for Pogofest, I received a package from him. He had spent a great deal of time and effort building me a beautiful wooden version of "my boat" as drawn by Neal Sternecky. It is wonderful!! I considered taking it to Pogofest to show off, but decided against it. I couldn’t stand the thought of having it damaged in transit.

I am posting this picture here so everyone can see what a nice person he is and what a wonderful addition I have to my collection.

"Smoke Filled Room"

The model shown to the right was hand made by Dale Intolubbe in 2004. It is an election special designed for use in the Okefenokee. It is roofed with hand split cedar shakes.

I recently was informed that Dale passed away in early 2008. I never met him in person, but I enjoyed corresponding with him and I love the boat he made for me.
