How about a New Rendition of Deck Us All...

We recently
received a cassette tape titled A Jazz Christmas from noted author, Bill Crouch
Jr. Bill found this tape in one of those "$3.98 Special" bins in his
local grocery story. One of the tracks was "Deck Us All With Boston
Charlie" in a rendition by Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. It is quite a
wild version that might have Walt Kelly rolling over in his grave.
If you want to search for the tape the cover is shown to the
left. It is Sony Music Special Products BT 21618. The cover gives the website
address for Sony Music Products as www.smsp.com.
The above message brought a response from web surfer
"Bill" who had the Lambert, Hendricks & Ross version of Deck Us
All With Boston Charlie on a CD and he was searching the net for the lyrics. His
search brought him to this page.
Bill reports the following information on the CD: "It
is titled "Jingle Bell Swing" (Columbia / Legacy) CK 65997
(c) 1999 Sony Music. I just picked my copy up at a local store. It looks like it's
also available at CDNow.com (but, not listed at Amazon.com)." Here's a link to the Legacy Records site that describes it:
http://www.legacyrecordings.com/jinglebellswing/ .
A later email brought this information:
I checked cddb.com, and found the Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross track on three different CDs:
http://www.cddb.com/xm/search?q=Lambert%2c+Hendricks+%26+
Ross+%2f+Deck+Us+All+With+Boston+Charlie&f=track
Various Artists / Jingle Bell Swing; Various / Hipsters' Holiday; Various Artists / MERRY READYMADE (TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN)
I think I'll try to track down a copy of at least one of these.
Regards, William
