Pogo For President

Pogo has had many hard fought campaigns in the past. Some ephemera and remembrances from these past campaigns are found on the following pages:

bulletCampaign Buttons. Pogo has been running for President since 1952, and has had a variety of campaign buttons over the years. Here's a bunch of examples.
bulletGo Go Pogo. This famous campaign song was written by Walt Kelly, and was published in "Songs of the Pogo". It was also sung by Kelly on the record "Songs of the Pogo".
bulletPress Releases. Here are copies of original press releases created by Walt Kelly and issued in 1956 for Pogo's run for (or away from) the Presidency. New releases will be added periodically during the campaign. Most of these Kelly press releases make more sense than current Presidential candidate statements.

If they had recounted the Okefenokee and Everglades Pogo would have won the 2000 Presidential election.

All Walt Kelly art used on these pages is O.G.P.I. - other material 2000-2008 by Marilyn White
