Pogofest's Past: 1998

Some scenes from 1998:

Pogo stands guard as Guest of Honor Bill Holbrook thanks Waycross Mayor Robert Odum, for his star on the Cartoonist Walk of Fame. Holbrook is the creator of Kevin and Kell, an on-line comic strip.
After the awards ceremony, Waycross festival organizers, members of the Pogo Fan Club, and members of the Southeastern Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society gathered for a reception.
The Army Band from a nearby base entertained at the street fair on Saturday. This was one of the many groups that entertained at Pogofest.
Bill Holbrook signed autographs and sold copies of his books at Miggles Emporium.
Another view of Miggles Emporium. That's Steve Thompson, President of the Pogo Fan Club with hands on hips. Steve is modeling the Bone/Pogo T shirt from the 1997 Pogofest.
Visitors who came to Miggles Emporium saw a display of cartoon art shown by Sam Rawls. Rawls draws syndicated editorial cartoons under the signature "Scrawls". The artwork was submitted by cartoonists from all over the US in support of the campaign to not allow strip mining near the Okefenokee Park.
