Songs of the Pogo! Now on CD

Finally, the CD that Pogo fans everywhere have been waiting for.  This re-issue has been promised for so long that the first time I heard about it, it was coming soon on 8-track.  Then it was cassette, but now it is here on CD.  This is a re-issue of the 1956 LP record by the same title.  It is wonderful!  It is a re-recording of the original 18 songs from the LP record.  It also contains the audio from “No! With Pogo” and  “Can’t, With Pogo”.  These were children’s 45 rpm records that came with a picture book.  My favorite on this CD is the inclusion of some rehearsal tapes that have not been previously heard.  And the “Grand Finale”, Walt Kelly reading the introduction to The Pogo Papers.  This is the source of the observation on humanity that became “We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us”.  For all of you that have contacted me over the years looking for Songs of the Pogo, here is your chance.
